The primary target audience for "My Baby" comprises expectant parents and those who are in the early stages of parenthood.

MY ROLE:

User Research: Summary
The target audience for this project comprises first-time parents who have numerous questions and concerns about their newborns. Through research, I've identified that many of these users often find themselves overwhelmed by the abundance of conflicting information available, leaving them uncertain about what to trust. Additionally, a common issue among this audience is the challenge of getting their babies to sleep, which can lead to sleep deprivation.
User Research: Pain Points
1
RELIABLE INFORMATION
All users share that they needed more reliable information about their first baby
2
SOCIALIZATION
Lack of acquaintances with children of the same age. With which to exchange information and socialize
3
LACK OF SLEEP
One of the biggest difficulties is lack of sleep
User Personas

Emma
Age: 30
Education: Master IT
Hometown: Zurich
Family: Married
Occupation: Administrator
“Educate yourself in the best way”
Frustrations
-
A lot of information, incomplete and different, hard to sift through what is true and what is not
-
I overdid the market because I didn't know how much to buy
-
I was not prepared for breastfeeding, it was very difficult for me and that's why I stopped
Goals
-
To prepare for what lies ahead
-
To understand how to properly care for the baby and myself
-
To prepare the house
-
Find other people with babies to push strollers together
Emma is a young parent. Confused by the many, fragmented and disparate information about childbirth, breastfeeding and then looking after the child itself. She would like to have everything in one place. She would also like to find acquaintances with children of a similar age. And recommendations for good doctors to trust.
Problem statement:
Emma is a first time mom who needs a place with structural information about a newborn because she gets confused by the incomplete and different information

Max
Age: 33
Education: Master IT
Hometown: Zurich
Family: Married
Occupation: Engineer
“When I haven't slept I'm not myself”
Frustrations
-
Difficulty keeping an appointment with the pediatrician
-
Bathing was difficult at first
-
The baby didn't sleep all night and I was at work the next day.
Goals
-
Тhat my child is well
-
Тo manage to sleep at least 7 hours
Max is a first-time dad who has been focusing on providing for the family while his wife looks after the child. The lack of sleep and information on how to deal with it are very unnerving. Also, the stress when something happens to the child and you can't make an appointment with the pediatrician is very unnerving.
Problem statement:
Max is a busy first time father who needs help to put the baby to sleep because insomnia interferes with his work and personal life.
Competitive Audit
The audit of several competing sites and applications provided guidance on gaps and opportunities for improvement that we could add to the "My Baby" application and website.

Screen Size Variations
Next, I sketched out wireframes for each screen in my app and website. And because "My Baby" customers access the site on a variety of different devices, I started to work on designs for additional screen sizes to make sure the site would be fully responsive.

Dedicated Mobile App
Low-Fidelity Prototype
The low-fidelity prototype connect the primary user flow of searching and finding information so the prototype could be used in a usability study with users

Takeaways
What I learned:
This project taught me that even tiny design adjustments can greatly affect how users feel. It reminded me to always think about what users truly want when I'm designing things for them.
